Well done done to our Juniors for attending one of he biggest competitions in the rowing calendar. This regatta sets the mark for crews looking to compete at Henley Royal Regatta, which makes it a competitive weekend of racing.

This year it was held at Dorney lake and our juniors delivered a spectacular performance!

Lets review the results :

  • Well done to our WJ15 4x+, Annie B, Scarlett, Maddie and Ellie W, coxed expertly by Lexie! Fantastic result on Friday in reaching the B final - coming second narrowly to Marlow. This is a great result considering this event had 68 entries!!

  • Well done to Anna and Portia who were rowing up a year in the WJ18 2x! Facing tough competition with only 52 entries. They narrowly missed out by 3 seconds on a semi final place, but great time and really good effort! Well done!

Thank you to David Maleham for towing the trailer to Dorney on Thursday evening and Andy for bringing it back in the evening.

Steve Pratt quoted “thank you to all the parents for supporting the Juniors and creating the Reading Roar! Great atmosphere! Well done everyone!”

National schools has always been a goal for our Juniors squad and each year the club has produced young crews and individuals who become rising stars in this sporting event.

A special mention goes to Steve Pratt and also to his coaching team for dedicating their weekend for national schools.
